This was an experiment on a new surface with an idea I had been playing around with for a while. I was pleased with the results but the piece has proven hard to photograph due to the reflective surface. Maybe We Should Come Back In The Morning 16" x 20", Acrylic on Canvas This was another experiment with fluorescence paint applied in thin layers for a painting demonstration I did at Bryn Du Mansion in Granville. That Room Is Just For Storage 12" x 18", Acrylic on Reflective Acrylic Panel The one positive with these awful times is that working from home has given me the opportunity to spend a lot of time in my studio. This was another experiment with pour painting and reflecftive acrylic panel. Again, photographing a reflective surface is challenging. The Call To Adventure 24" x 36", Acrylic on Canvas I wanted to attempt to capture the magic of childhood adventures and further experiment with thin layers of fluorescent paint. This was inspired by those warm summer nights outside with moths orbiting the lights. All of the species depicted are native to Ohio. Jelly Mushroom 26" x 34", Acrylic on Canvas This painting was based on a photograph of a jelly mushroom my kids and I were looking at using a field microscope. I really enjoyed the color transitions and forms and hadn't done a more abstract piece for some time. |
